Composite material comprising a metal layer, an adhesion promoter and a polypropylene layer

Described is a composite material comprising a metal layer, an adhesion promoter and a polypropylene layer. The adhesion promoter consists essentially of an epoxy resin based on bisphenol A. The polypropylene layer contains, in the mass, a graftable silane and also a peroxide as crosslinking agent, or has been treated at the surface which faces the metal layer with a mixture of graftable silane and peroxide. If the polypropylene layer contains crosslinking agent, it is possible - by setting the degree of crosslinking and through a glass fibre reinforcement of the polypropylene layer - to adapt the linear thermal expansion coefficient of the polypropylene layer to that of the metal layer in order that a bimetal effect may be avoided.
