Method of removing dried-on ink (china ink, india ink) from transparent paper or plastic film

A method is described of removing dried-on ink from transparent paper or plastic films, which comprises applying to the ink to be removed a correction liquid containing at least 50% by weight of a lactone having 4 to 6 carbon atoms, and removing the loosened ink with a mechanical aid. The method makes it possible to carry out fine corrections to ink drawings without damaging the material bearing the drawing or the areas of the ink drawing which are adjacent to the correction site.
