Bicycles made up to now are characterised by a relatively limited transportation capacity. The novel bicycle makes possible increased capacity for the transportation of goods and children with optimum conditions for loading weight, stability, safety and comfort. The bicycle has a front wheel with a small diameter over which a basket-like carrier is mounted, which carrier has foldable walls, a lid and a protective covering. By folding up the basket walls in different ways, by the appropriate attachment of the lid and the use of the protective covering, various structural shapes are produced, each depending on the cyclist's requirements.
