Generation of light reflecting background - forming cloud of reflecting gas or vapour e.g. for investigating rail vehicle wheels

A light reflecting background is produced in the form of a cloud or fog-like formation of light reflecting gas, evaporated material, atomised material or similar which reflects the illuminating light. The cloud can be produced by atomising water and can be continuously or intermittently generated. For investigating the running surfaces of the wheels of vehicles, esp. railway vehicles, the cloud is formed behind the wheels in the field of view of a photographic or photoelectric device. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for use in forming silhouette images of train wheel path using photographic or photoelectric equipment. Stable light reflecting background is provided.
