The hydraulic damper cylinder (1) locates a piston (3) with throttle valves (6,7) which link the two cylinder chambers (4,5) as counter acting non-return valves. A coaxial outer cylinder tube (18) produces a compensating chamber (9) for the displaced hydraulic fluid. An axially sliding valve plate (10) on the piston rod (2) has internal and external sealing rings (13,14). The axial displacement of the valve plate allows fluid transfer between the adjacent cylinder chamber (5) and the compensating chamber. USE/ADVANTAGE - For car suspensions etc. with limiting of certain damping force.
