The car safety belt system has a component deformable under load, exceeding a preset value for energy absorption. The component has sections (7a) with apertures, stretchable under load, each incorporating stops (10,15). The stops about each other, when a pref. amount of deformation has taken place, to limit the deformation. The slops are pref. formed by ribs, extending into the aperture from opposite sides, and engaging positively together. ADVANTAGE - Breakage prevention even under permanent deformation.
