PURPOSE:To provide the above high-strength mass concrete which obviates the rapid generation of hydration heat and cracking by using the kneaded matter consisting of the spheroidized cement obtd. by spheroidizing the outer peripheral surfaces of microparticles of cement clinker by polishing, melting, etc., aggregate and water. CONSTITUTION:The spheroidized cement is produced by a method of supplying the fine particles of the cement clinker led out of the finishing mill of a process for producing cement by conventional methods to an annular collision chamber 7 of a high-speed jet impact device and grinding these particles to spheroidize the particles or other methods. The spheroidized cement, =60% of which has 3.9 to 30mum diameter, is more preferable. The mass concrete is produced by using the kneaded mixture composed of such spheroidized cement, the aggregate (e.g. sand) and the water. Since the spheroidized cement has a low specific surface area, the contact surface area with the water decreases and the mass concrete of the low hydration heat is produced.
