TREATMENT OF POLLUTED WATER WITH NATURE COKE

PURPOSE:To utilize effectively nature coke for treatment of polluted water by stirring magnetically an aq. suspension incorporated with a specific amt. of pulverized coal having adjusted grain sizes to the extent of not breaking grain sizes then adding the same together with a specific flocculating agent and a pH neutralizer to polluted water. CONSTITUTION:An aq. suspension contg. =10wt% nature coke powder, and incorporated with 5-20wt% pulverized coal of adjusted grain sizes contg. =85wt% pulverized powder of 6-500 mesh grain sizes is magnetically stirred to the extent of not breaking substantially grain sizes. Said aq. suspension is then added together with a flocculating agent forming aluminum hydroxide or aluminum hydroxide and iron hydroxide when hydrolyzed and if necessary, a pH neutralizer to polluted water, thereby treating the polluted water. If the separated supernatant liquid after removal of the polluting components in the polluted water is electrolytically filtered through the fine grain layers of nature coke in an electrolytic cell having anode and cathode, the quality of the treated water is further improved.
