PURPOSE:To perform the fuzzy division of information into several group sets through easy operation according to its features by providing an arithmetic means which calculates and outputs membership functions of the respective group sets by an input means to a display means. CONSTITUTION:When the measurement data set of an object process is divided into group sets = 2 fuzzy labels, a correlation diagram indicating the order correlation of data elements constituting the measurement data set is displayed on a display means 5. Consequently, the features of the measurement data set can be grasped visually and efficiently. Then an operator sets and inputs division border from outside by an input means 3 while referring to the correla tion diagram. Then the membership functions of the respective divided and set group sets are calculated by the arithmetic means 4 and outputted to the display means 5. Consequently, the fuzzy division of the information into proper group sets is easily performed through the easy operation according to its features.
