PURPOSE: To provide simple, efficient, effective and economical dies for casting by disposing a consumable core so as to surround a mandrel with the interval and arranging a projection for engaging with a flange of the mandrel. CONSTITUTION: In the dies for casting the internal combustion engine cylinder, the dies 30, 32 forming the end part of the cylinder for internal combustion engine are disposed. Further, the dwel 50 concentrically with the cylinder, is fitted to the metallic mold 32. The hollow cylindrical mandrel 40 is supported so as to be freely fitted/removed to the dwel 50 and a circumferential flange 42 extended to the outer part in the end part. The consumable core 20 is disposed so as to surround the mandrel 40 with a fixed interval to the mandrel 40. The projection 22 for engaging with the flange 42 of the mandrel 40 is formed in the core 20 to hold the core 20 to the suitable position. In this way, the die for casting can be provided so as to reduce the member.
