OZONE-TREATED PRODUCT OF ALKALI METAL LIGNIN SULFONATE-CONTAINING AQUEOUS SOLUTION HAVING ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY

PURPOSE:To provide an ozone-treated product useful as a water-reducing agent for cements, dispersing agent, dyeing auxiliary, etc., and also having an antimicrobial activity by treating a lignin sulfonic acid alkali metal salt- containing aqueous solution with ozone gas. CONSTITUTION:The ozone-treated product of a lignin sulfonic acid alkali metal salt-containing aqueous solution is obtained by treating the aqueous solution with the bubbles of ozone gas. The ozone-treated product prevents the generation of microorganisms such as molds and simultaneously has the original function as a dispersing agent. The treated product can be employed as a water- reducing agent for cements, a dispersing agent and a dyeing auxiliary singly or after mixed with a non-treated lignin sulfonic acid alkali metal salt-containing aqueous solution, and sustains an antimicrobial activity thereof when stored or transported.
