PURPOSE:To fix a high-quality extract in the raw which is not degenerated with high efficiency by rapidly depressurizing the supercritical gaseous carbon dioxide contg. the extract to transform the extract into a solid, and fixing the extract. CONSTITUTION:The supercritical gaseous carbon dioxide introduced in a separation vessel 2 is rapidly depressurized, and cooled to a low temp. of -56.6--79 deg.C by the adiabatic expansion, and a significant amt. of the supercritical gaseous carbon dioxide is transformed into a powdery snow-shaped solid carbon dioxide. The extract contained in the supercritical gaseous carbon dioxide is mostly adsorbed on the solid carbon dioxide, and occuluded therein. As a result, the extract contained in the supercritical gaseous carbon dioxide is fixed without being heated, and hence the high-quality extract in the raw which is not degenerated can be fixed as such with high efficiency.
