PURPOSE:To attain automation of label sticking operation in a packing line of New Year's cards by reading a pattern of a set number and a lottery number printed on the New Year's cards flowing on the packing line via a CPU and transferring data of the number read by a labeller. CONSTITUTION:The New Year's cards, e.g., 200 sheets stacked together in the order of numbers are carried on a conveyor 62 and they are packed at 200 sheets each by a packing machine 38. A detection sensor and TV cameras 1, 18 are fitted this side of the packing device, a New Year's card number reader 100 picks up the image of a set number 52 and a lottery number 54 of the New Year's card and they are read and recognized by the reader 100. The data from the New Year's card number reader 100 is inputted to the labeller 36 comprising a buffer 46, a CPU40, a print section 42 and a sticking section 44. A character of a font data is printed on the label and the reader is in standby, and the arrival of the New Year's card 56 packed to the sticking section 44 is detected by the detection sensor and also the sticking section 44 stickes the printed label in standby onto the package.
