PURPOSE:To make a recording medium compact by changing the projection angle of light entered from the external correspondingly to information stored in an information storage medium, receiving the coded light and reproducing the information read out of the information storing medium on an information writing/reading means. CONSTITUTION:When the information storage medium C is stored in the information writer/reader R, a light source means 1 in the writer/reader R lights up, light beams are supplied to a light battery 5 in the storage medium C and power is supplied to respective parts of the storage medium C. When the means R drives a light emitting means 3 in accordance with the address information of required information, the address information is transmitted to a storage part 10 through a light receiving element 9 and read out. The read information is applied to a projection angle control part 7, which changes the projection angle of light from the light source correspondingly to the read information and the light is detected as a signal coded by the light receiving means 2 and applied to the means R. Consequently, the information can be read out in noncontact state and the device can be made compact.
