PURPOSE:To obtain the titled brass base alloy superior in not only discharging characteristic but also the so-called weist strength, by composing said alloy of respective ratios of Zn, Al, Ti and the balance substantially Cu. CONSTITUTION:The titled Cu alloy consists of, by weight 5-38% Zn, 0.5-3% Al, 0.01-0.5% Ti and the balance substantially Cu. Since the alloy is superior in electric discharge machining, and difficult to have a habit being wound as wire for wire cutting, automatic wire joinning thereof is facilitated. Since said alloy can be subjected to electric discharge machining under high tension due to high tensile strength thereof, the titled alloy whose finished precision is improved is obtd. and is useful extremely in practical. The alloy is superior in softening resistance considering strength data after annealing at 400 deg.C, and superior in spring property considering numerical value of stiffness. Thus, it is useful as electrical, electronical member such as spring, connector materials.
