The kit for transforming a saloon motor car into a convertible comprises a central bow (2) which is to be attached in the region of the B pillar and two side bows (3) which are to be connected to the central bow, it being possible to screw all the bow ends to the floor assembly and, in addition, a roof mounting strip which can be fixed to the front frame of the roof and serves to secure the roof skin which consists of covering material, furthermore a roof clamping bow (22) which is connected to a sliding block (23) and can be moved and fixed on a sliding rail which can be screwed to the remaining side window seam, and cutting edge cover preforms for covering the cutting edges arising when the roof is cut off.
