Abstract of the disclosuresThere is disclosed a method for producing an austeniticstainless steel plate superior in corrosion resistance andhaving high yield strength both at ambient and highertemperatures. The method includes the step of hot rollinga steel piece previously heated to 1000°C in the recrystalliza-tion temperature range or, alternatively, reducing thepreviously heated piece in the recrystallization temperaturerange and then in the non-recrystallization temperaturerange, so as to effect hot rolling at higher than 800°C,and cooling the resulting steel piece by acceleratedcooling to a temperature at least equal to 550°C at a meancooling rate of higher than 2°C/second.
