A METHOD AND AN ARRANGEMENT TO PRODUCE MORE THAN ONE PULL-/PUSH POSITION AT PULL-/PUSH MAGNETS

Method and means relating to traction-thrust magnets are proposed for providing more than one traction-thrust position by means of amperages adjusted thereto. A magnet comprises a core unit (5) in the form of two or more movable parts (7, 8) cooperating with a solenoid (3). When electric current is supplied to the solenoid, magnetic fluxes (19, 20) of corresponding magnitudes are generated within the solenoid, which fluxes cause a movable soft-magnetic core part to move in the longitudinal direction of the flux. A first core part (7) screens magnetically the other core part or parts, which screening effect is overcome when a magnet flux (20) of a predetermined magnitude is supplied. A traction means, or a thrust means, secured to a movable core part then moves correspondingly.
