The headstone (12) of a grave is mounted on a plinth supported on a foundation. The headstone (12) is held in place by an anchor bolt (1) which passes through a hole in the plinth and has its lower end embedded in the foundation. The upper end (1a) of the anchor bolt (1) is of reduced dia. and is fitted with a rubber bush (3) and a cap (2). The hole in the headstone forms a sliding fit for the cap (2) and a clearance fit for the bush (3). When the headstone is placed over the anchor bolt (11) a shoulder in the headstone hole presses against the end face of the cap (2) which presses against the rubber bush (3). The consequent axial compression of the rubber bush causes it to expand radially to form a tight fit in the headstone hole. USE/ADVANTAGE - The headstone can be easily removed if required.
