Threaded male and female components with locking facility - in which moulded barbed area on male component threads interlocks with matching recessed barbed area on female

A plastic component (2) is described which has a threaded length (1) onto which a threaded nut can be screwed. Both the male (1) and opposing female threads have corresp. areas with a barb-like structure (5). On the male thread (1) the barbs (5) project from the thread flanks while on the female thread a matching recess is moulded in to accept the projecting male barb (5). When the nut is screwed onto the threaded male component (1), male (5) and female barbs interlock without deformation of the components and prevent loosening of the nut. USE/ADVANTAGE - For locking male and female threads together and in partic. on the shaft of a filter nozzle body. The components are easily screwed together by hand and no elastic deformation occurs.
