The concertina-piece (1) is made up of a number of refined steel separate parts (2). These are in the form of plate-spring shaped discs interconnected to form a column by welding along adjacent, peripheral connecting sections (4,5). The bends in the concertina are formed by the outer casing parts (6) of the separate parts (2) positioned between the connecting-sections (4,5). The separate sections (2) have thinner walls than the connecting sections (4,5). USE/ADVANTAGE - The concertina is for elastically restricting a pressurised fluid-filled compartment, and can be used with pressures of up to 10,000 bars.
