A multilayer laminated film (I) is claimed, contg. (a) an unfoamed PVC base layer or film 60-400 microns thick, contg. ABS-free vinyl chloride homo-, co- or graft copolymer(s) or ABS-free PVC alloy(s), (b) hot melt adhesive layer(s) or film(s) or sealing layer(s) (underneath (a)), opt. together with contact adhesive film(s) or layer(s) (c), which are combined with (a) directly or by using other interlayer(s) (d); at least one layer (b,c) contains or consists of a copolyester and/or a co-, ter- or block co-polymer or an alloy of ethylene or polyethylene with a carboxylic acid, carboxylate ester and/or carboxylic acid/ester or acid deriv.; (a) contains a pigment and/or is provided with a print or colour-print layer (e) and/or a layer of lacquer (f) and/or (directly or with upper interlayer(s) or intermediate film(s)) a strippable temporary layer or film (g) 40-200 microns thick, contg. more than 50 wt.% polyolefin (w.r.t. total plastics content of g). (I) is produced by (co)-extrusion of (a), opt. with other layers, followed by application of adhesive, primer or sealing layer(s) to the back of (a), in the form of a soln. in organic solvent or an aq. dispersion. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is useful for direct lamination with metal, sheet metal, wood, wood prods. or cardboard (claimed). W.r.t. prior-art laminating film, (I) has improved properties, esp. good bonding to various substrates (see above), good printability and good dimensional stability; strippable layer (g) prevents surface damage during prodn. and processing.
