Passive collector for air impurities - uses surrogate surface receiving precipitation and passing dry and wet impurities to collector underneath

The passive collector (1) for impurities in the air allows the rate of deposition of the latter on natural or synthetic stonework to be determined. It comprises a covered reception container (3) with an attached surrogate surface (2) which receives both the impurities carried in the air and those deposited by rain, the deposited impurities being washed down into the reception container. Pref. the surrogate surface is provided by a glass fibre mat fitting through the cover (4) of the reception container, with a gap (5) between them. USE - Evaluating air pollution level.
