Method of producing reusable products from metallic sludge which has oil contamination and other impurities consist of feeding the liquid sludge onto the hearth of a furnace and heating to 1800 deg C and above. The superheated liquid can then be subjected to various reduction processes by feeding material or gas into the melt.
