METHOD FOR SEPARATING MIXTURE OF AROMATIC COMPOUND AND NON-AROMATIC COMPOUND INTO AROMATIC AND NON-AROMATIC CONCENTRATED FLUIDS

PURPOSE: To remarkably save energy in separating a mixture of an aromatic compound and non-aromatic compound into an aromatic-enriched stream and non-aromatic-enriched stream by bringing the mixture into contact with one side of a polysulfone membrane and selectively permeating the aromatic components through the membrane for separation. CONSTITUTION: Aromatic group molecules present in a feedstock stream are dissolved in to a membrane film due to the resemblance between a dissolving parameter of a polysulfone membrane and a dissolving parameter of the aromatics present in the feedstock by bringing a mixture of an aromatic compound and non-aromatic compound into contact with one side of the polysulfone membrane. Then, the aromatic compound permeates (diffuses) into the membrane and is washed by washing liquid containing a little amount of the aromatic compound. Thereby, the concentration of the aromatic compound is kept low in the permeate side of the membrane film, maintaining a concentration gradient allowing the permeation of the aromatic compound into the membrane.
