INDIRECTLY HEATED CATHODE AND CATHODE SUBSTRATE THEREOF AND MANUFACTURE OF INDIRECTLY HEATED CATHODE

PURPOSE:To facilitate connection of a metal fine line to a terminal so that the fine line can be easily mounted in a fluorescent display tube, etc., by installing an indirectly heated cathode of such a structure that the metal fine line to act as a cathode is wound around a linear heater portion. CONSTITUTION:A portion 5 around which a metal fine line is wound and a portion 6 where the fine line is drawn outward are alternately installed on a heater portion 3 where a heater core is covered with an insulating layer. The heater portion 3 and the drawing out portion 6 are held by a tape member 7 and an electron emission material layer is attached to the winding 5.
