MECHANICAL POLISHING METHOD FOR PROTHESIC APPIIANCE SUBJECTED TO DENTAL TECHNICAL WORK

PURPOSE:To polish only the part of a complementarily binding object for dental use which should be finished with polishing by covering the non-grinding part of object with a clay-form photosetting resin, irradiating this resin with a beam of light to allow it to harden, and subjecting it to mechanical grinding. CONSTITUTION:The marginal part 1a at the crown 1 is covered with a clay-form photosetting resin 2, which is irradiated with beams of light emitted from a light projector device 3. Standard dosing conditions are a lamp of 85-1300w, a projection distance of 1-5mm, and an irradiation time of 90-300sec. This crown 1 is placed in a mechanical polishing device, and polish is made for a certain specified period. The hardened resin 2A is removed simply from the crown 1 by splitting it by the use of nipper, etc. Thus, those parts of crown 1 to be polished will solely be polished.
