PURPOSE:To activate scrap wood and lumber from thinning and to obtain a molded form which is enriched in water resistance and large in structural strength by sticking thermosetting resin being in a semihard state to the surfaces of the respective pieces of lumber chips and the gaps of the structure. CONSTITUTION:Lumber from thinning is ground to obtain lumber chips which properly contain both the greater part having about 1cm length and the other part having length not longer than 1cm. The lumber chips are immersed in thermosetting resin dissolved in an organic solvent. The surface parts of the lumber chips and the gap parts of the structure are sufficiently impregnated therewith. Then the lumber chips are dried to practicably vaporize moisture in the structure together with the organic solvent. Thereby thermosetting resin 2 being in a semihard state is stuck to the surfaces of the respective pieces of lumber chips 1 and the gaps of the structure. The molding material 3 is obtained which is constituted of these lumber chips as the main material. In this molding material, the joining state of the lumber chips and resin is made remarkably strong. A molded form having large structural strength can be molded by hardening this molding material.
