The bonbon packaging unit includes a load platform on which the bonbons are moved upwards, after which one of the bottom closure flaps of the packaging blank is folded backwards towards the outside of the box, whilst the three remaining bottom flaps are folded inwards. The box (7,6) is retained by a take-up bracket consist of two panels (8,8') each provided with suction cups (11) connected to a vacuum supply. Both panels are in the same plane, when the flat folded box arrives from the storage area. Panels are then turned to form a box shape. Both panels (8',8") guide the box to the filling station (10). A retainer (15) and hook (16) enable folding of the box side flaps.
