A series of adenines substituted N6 position serve as antagonists of the stimulation of adenylate cyclase of A2 adenosine receptors in the A2 adenosine receptors and antagonists inhibiting the cyclase of adenylate by A1-adenosine receptors. These compounds are useful to reverse the lipolysis via adenosine, the deleterious cardiovascular effects caused by adenosine (conduction defects, hypotension), vascular action caused by adenosine in the kidneys, bronchodilation, the antiarrhythmic action, by adenosine relaxation of smooth muscles, antinarcoleptique action, CNS stimulation, and blocking inhibition by adenosine release of neuro-transmitters.
