The massage device in the form of a rod for body cavities has a cylindrical housing (105) which consists of two individual housings (10; 110) of which the one housing part (10) forms the end part (10') and the other housing part (110) forms the head part (110') with the rounded body cavity insertion end of the massage device (100), the head part (110') being held rotatably about its longitudinal axis on the end of the end part (10') which, in its interior space, has a current source and a drive motor whose drive shaft is guided out of the end of the end part (10') facing the head part (110') and is fixedly connected to the individual housing (110) of the head part (110') which has a drive motor in its interior space for a vibration device, an on and off switch (35; 135) being provided for each of the two drive motors, or only one on and off switch being provided, constructed as a double switch.
