Ski boot with tongue protruding achilles tendon - shell has extensions superposed on sides of tendon and outside tongue when boot is closed

The ski boot has a shell (1) with a tongue (4) which extends vertically over the Achilles tendon. A leg (8), with one or two parts, is articulated on the shell. The heel is held inside the boot by the tongue and by extensions of the shell (6) which extend backwards. The extensions are superposed on each side of the Achilles tendon when the boot is closed and they are outside the tongue, or they can be inside the tongue. The tongue is joined to the shell by a narrower part (5) which forms a hinge. USE/ADVANTAGE - The ski boot protects the Achilles tendon.
