The excited resonator modes are formed in a cavity resonator and brought about by a wave propagated in a wave guide coupled to the cavity resonator. The wave guide (H1) is coupled to the cavity resonator (HR1) via a coupling aperture in the resonator side wall for excitation of the decade resonance modes. - At least another coupling aperture (K11) is provided in the side or front wall of the cavity resonator for coupling of the same wave guide for exciting of at least one further resonator mode. Pref. the coupling apertures (K11,12) are so arranged that different resonance modes are excited in the cavity resonator by a field component in the wave guide.
