The electromotor driven toothbrush (1) has a brush rod (6) in which the brushes (7), pref. in a central region (7`), are longer and/or more densely arranged and/or harder and/or thicker or otherwise formed for deeper penetration in the gaps between teeth of the user. The brushes remaining on either, side are normal. The brushs head is mounted on a circumferential line or region of the rod for rotation by the motor. A protective surface (2") covers a radial region of the brushes by extending parallel to the brush rod. ADVANTAGE - Less subject to wear. Effective even at low r.p.m. of motor.
