An exchange (2), connected by a network access interface (4) to one or more terminals (5) and by e.g. an integrated services digital network (ISDN) to other external terminals is supported by a computer (3) which is an integral part of the system and has its own interface (8) to peripheral keyboards and screens (6). Both terminals (5) and the peripherals (6) are accessible through a user interface (7). The computer (3) can establish links and conference calls, engage check-back lines and manage system information. ADVANTAGE - Allows development of number of different services even for small users.
