Film forming compsn. for levelling phosphor coat of CRT picture screen - before applying aluminium contg. functional resin, initiator and ammonium oxalate

Compsn. for forming the film between a phosphor coating and Al coating of a CRT picture screen contains resin (I) with functional acrylate, vinyl and/or diazo gp(s)., 0.1-10% free radical or cationic initiator (II), activated by UV or electron radiation, and small amts. of ammonium oxalate (III). Pref. (I) is an acrylate, including trimethylolpropane triacrylate (IA), hexane-1,6-diol diacrylate and urethane acrylate (IB). (II) is benzil, benzene, benzoin alkyl ester, benzyl methyl acetal or ketal, benzoin, acetophenone or esp. benzophenone or 1-ketophenyl-cyclohexanol (IIA). The compsn. may also contain a photoaccelerator, pref. uric acid cpds., aliphatic or aromatic amines, N,N-di-substd. aminobenzonitriles and/or aromatic sulphonates, esp. an aminoacrylate. USE/ADVANTAGE - The film compsn. avoids explosion and flammability hazards, adheres well and hardens and dries rapidly. It increases the emission brightness by levelling the Al layer.
