Testing gas pipe seals for suitability for natural gas - using test gas hold at raised pressure during test interval where gas supply is lower pressure town gas
Testing gas pipe seals for suitability for natural gas - using test gas hold at raised pressure during test interval where gas supply is lower pressure town gas
The method of testing the sealing of gas pipes and containers, etc. involves connecting a throughput measurement device (7) to the feed (5) to the measureement pipe (6) etc. and measuring the leakage quantity over a defined period. The measurement pipe is filled with a test gas. Test gas is fed into a variable vol. chamber (16) whose output is connected to the measurement device's inlet during the measurement interval. The gas is held at a constant, defined press. in the variable vol. chamber during the test interval. The press. is applied by a medium via a separating element (18). USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables systems previously operated only with town gas to be tested for suitability for higher press. natural gas when only town gas is currently available for supply.
