CULTURED SPECIES OF MOSS AND METHOD FOR CULTIVATING MOSSES USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To obtain cultured species capable of readily forming dense communities of the mosses and a method for cultivating the mosses in which the dense communities can readily be formed and cultivated in a short time. ;CONSTITUTION: A plant tissue such as a gametophyte, a protonema, a spore or a callus of mosses is purely cultured, mass-proliferated in a culture tank and differentiated to a young plant body [corresponding to a plumule in a moss sowing method (for loosening or cutting a mat of mosses collected in field, sowing the cut pieces on a nursery bed, germinating young buds and acclimatizing the buds)], which is then taken out, used as a cultured species of mosses and sown so as to provide a desired community density on a nursery bed.
