READING AND STORING SYSTEM FOR COMPOSITE INDEX CODE OF RECORDING DISK

PURPOSE:To effectively use a storing region by reading-out a first and a second index code groups from a lead-in area, and storing the read-out data of one of the index code groups in the order from a high address side, and the read-out data of the other in the order from a low address side respectively. CONSTITUTION:A disk 1 is provided with a first region (CD region) 2 at the inside circumference side and a video region 3 in which an audio information is PCM-modulated and recorded. Before a reproduction, the index code in the lead-in area is read-out, and the index code data are judged whether they are concerned with the recorded contents of the CD region 2 or not, and if they are of the CD region, the read-out data are stored in the storing region of a RAM 16 in the order of its high address side toward the center of the region. On the other hand, if they are the data concerned with the recorded contents of the video region, the read-out data are stored in the storing region of the RAM 16 in the order of its low address side toward the center of the region. Thus, in the storing region of the RAM 16, the data are alternately stored from the high address side and from the low address side.
