PURPOSE:To provide measuring method for easily executing grasp of starting line of dripping in fusing zone at the time of measuring the softened fusing zone in a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:An RI having the equal m.p. as an iron is connected to the tip part 4 of a flexible sonde, and after inserting this into the optional position in radius direction in the furnace, sampling of molten iron melted and dripped in executed together with the RI and the starting position of dripping is grasped from the RI concn. analyzed result and at the same time, under consideration of descending speed of charged material, the dripping starting line of fusing zone is decided. By this method, the RI can be surely introduced into the optional position in the radius direction in the furnace without disturbing the atmosphere in the furnace and the accurate dripping starting position in the whole body to the radius direction in the furnace can be grasped.
