PURPOSE: To obtain a control method of magnetic powder liquid which achieves control so that a flaw detection function of the magnetic powder liquid which is being recycled can be constantly held at an approximately same level in a continuous magnetic powder flaw detection method and an artificial defect sensor device for it. ;CONSTITUTION: In a continuous magnetic powder flaw detection method, a magnetic powder liquid which is being recycled is allowed to contact the surface of an electromagnet of an artificial defect sensor device which consists of the electromagnet where a gap is formed on the surface, an ultraviolet ray lamp, and a photoelectric element and a magnetic particle containing a fluorescence magnetic particle is assembled and deposited to the gap. The amount of deposition is measured, at the same time, the fluorescence brightness is measured, and it is controlled so that the flaw detection function of the magnetic powder liquid is controlled to nearly the same level constantly by using both measurement values.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
