PURPOSE: To ensure safety of a vehicle by transferring a control unit to a fail safe mode when an error of a wheel rotational signal of a vehicle, detected as a common signal, is detected. ;CONSTITUTION: A device comprises a wheel speed information detecting means 4 for detecting a wheel speed information signal by arithmetically processing a wheel rotational signal output from wheel rotation detecting means 1R, 1L of outputting the wheel rotational signal, first control unit 2 for controlling the first action of a vehicle based on the detected wheel speed information signal and the second control unit 3 supplied with the vehicle speed information signal from the first control unit 2 to control the second action of the vehicle based on the supplied wheel speed information. When a trouble in the wheel speed information detecting means 4 of the first control unit 2 is detected, at least one of the first/second control units 2, 3 is transferred to a control mode of fail safe mode.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
