CONSTRUCTION METHOD OF UNDERGROUND STRUCTURE HAVING LARGE SECTION AND SPLIT BLOCK USED FOR SAID STRUCTURE AND EXCAVATOR

PURPOSE: To construct an underground structure having a large section efficiently and economically. ;CONSTITUTION: Side drift sections 9A and 9B are constructed, and a guide section 13 of an excavator 10 is interlocked with a recess 1a of arch members 1 in the existing arch belt 3 to excavate a bedrock 20 in a state to reciprocate between side drift sections. New arch members 1 are erected in an arch type hollow 6 excavated and formed backward of the excavator 10 in a state to interlock the recess 1a of the arch members 1 in the arch belt 3 with a projection 1b of the new arch members 1, and a new arch belt is constructed. The central part 7 as the bedrock 20 of the insides of the constructed arch belts 3 is excavated.
