FOREIGN MATTER DETECTOR OF OPENING AND SCUTCHING PROCESS

PURPOSE: To detect foreign matter mixed in raw cotton in a opening and scutching process irrespective of metal or nonmetal. ;CONSTITUTION: An opening cylinder 5 of a main body 4 of a bale opener blender of plucking-off cotton and sending cotton by air flow while moving on a bale line 2 is equipped with a first sensor consisting of a lighting tool 12 to illuminate the top 20 of raw cotton at the front side in the advance direction from the slant top and a color sensor 13 to detect foreign matter having a color different from that of raw cotton existing on the top of lighted raw cotton and with a second sensor consisting of a CCD camera 14 to pick up image of the top of the lighted raw cotton and an image processing device 15 thereof, the first and the second sensors are alternately changed, the result is introduced to an evaluating device 17 to judge the existence of the foreign matter 21.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
