Improvements to a system which comprises a first stage of heating water, by means of a boiler incinerating urban solid waste, which functions below the temperatures as of which undesirable corrosion problems arise regarding the elements of said boiler; and a second phase of heating the vapour obtained in the first phase, carried out by means of a boiler for recovering the thermal energy of the exhaust gases originating from one or more internal-combustion engines or from an industrial or natural process, which may or may not have required reheating by means of post- combustion.
