The damper incorporates a pliable component which separates a first chamber from a second, and is activated by a spring. The component is a throttle shutter (1) which is disc-shaped and provided with a hole (2), and which is displaceably located in a damper housing (3) against the flow direction. The damper housing has the total flow of medium passing through it. The throttle shutter with the hole (2) is guided by longitudinal ribs on the periphery of the walling of the damper housing. The cross-section of the chambers (25,26,31) in the damper housing through which fluid flows widens along the length direction. ADVANTAGE - Provides effective damping over a longer operating time.s
