Diode pumped dual wavelength laser providing two-colour laser light - has two pumped crystals with associated Peltier elements allowing temp.-induced wavelength frequency shift

The dual wavelength laser has the pumping light provided by a semiconductor laser diode fed to a pair of crystals (3, 4) of the lanthanide group via an optical coupling. The crystals (3, 4) lie between two resonator mirrors with the c-axes of the crystals (3, 4) perpendicular to one another. The crystals are mounted on respective heat sinks (5, 6) with associated Peltier elements each having a temp. sensor (12, 13), allowing a temp. induced frequency shift in both perpendicularly polarised laser wavelengths. ADVANTAGE - Provides two colour laser light with wavelength and polarisation tuning.
