The calk (2) is designed for easy fitting into a horseshoe and for easy removal. It has a cylindrical stud (2a) in which a spring-loaded (4) detent (3) catches, and is fitted with a notch (1c) in a horseshoe (1). The horseshoe is drilled (1a) to receive the calk (2), and the hole (1a) has a bevelled edge (16) on the side where the calk is inserted, and a notch (1c) on the other side. USE/ADVANTAGE - Calk or stud for horseshoe may be fitted in considerably reduced time and requires no tool.
