The i.c. engine r.p.m. variation detection and jolt prevention system allows a constant acceleration to be detected from the rate of increase in the engine r.p.m. and allow the jolt prevention system to be switched out of operation when the rate of increase is below a given threshold (S2). The jolt prevention system allows the variation in the engine r.p.m. to be compensated by corresp. adjustment of the torque and is activated when the rate of variation in the r.p.m. is above a second threshold (S1). Both these thresholds (S2,S1) are specified for each model engine. USE - Ensuring smooth engine running.
