The invention concerns a training device (1) for simulating and practising dental-treatment procedures and for carrying out dental technician's work, the training device having a liquid-suction device (17) and a solids-suction device (14). The training device is fitted, for both suction devices (14, 17), with a common vacuum source (25) with a suction line (26) which branches at a branch point (27) to give two branch lines (28, 29) to the two suction devices (14, 17). Located at the branch point (27) is a switch (27) designed to open one branch line (28 or 29) and simultaneously close the other (29 or 28).
